Birthdays are Really Mothers Day After-all :)

Saturday May 8, I had a fishing themed party for Jerry and his grandson Cal. They are exactly 50 years apart and Cal turned 4, "you do the math"..... :)
It was a small party with mostly family and the neighbors Carl and Rhonda next door.
Nole and Jessica, Josh & Theresa, Anna... Theresa's Mom, Amber and her friend Krissy, and our nephew Christopher, Amber's brother. The 3 grandchildren Cal, Aidan, And Asa!
Joshua won first place for best dressed fisherman when he showed up with jacket, hat and even his pole....oh I think we all got got the itch!
We enjoyed food, talking, and later in the evening a sing-a-long as the talent took off on guitars and piano. We have some nice voices in this family!
The next morning, Mothers Day/ Jerry's Birthday, we had a stuffed french toast breakfast. Josh and Amber had to go to work later in the morning, so the day was cut short. I am thankful to be so blessed with special kids!
Jerry and I say "Thank you" for making our life count and so very happy!

Lamb's and Brusco's

Our past Sunday was just an average Sunday until we met up with friends downtown at Victoria's! All the "Hello's" and "Hi's" and "How have you beens" ? were chattered as we came in couple by couple. Finally we were together, sitting at our table, men on one end, women on the other. This may seem a little odd, but we all had so much fun catching up. Actually once a month us girls meet at the Copper Rock Coffee for a 3-4 hour girl-talk which includes tons of laughs. This night was no different, finding just about everything funny, from Lamb on the napkin to ships replacing bra's...(you'd have to be there) the laughter never stopped, stomachs hurt, and belly's were full of awesome food and drink. We just love these people, the fact they are funny is just a bonus! ;)

It's a Girl

We are proud and so happy to announce we are now a family of three in our house. Amber Nicole Lequia, my sisters daughter is now living with us. She is going to accomplish many things while with us. First things first....getting comfortable! She moved in rather easily, she didn't bring anything but the necessities. Her laptop, clothes, guitar....you know! :) We've explored the local technical school and got a lot of information. We then stopped at a few businesses for job applications. We are both looking for work!
We ask for your prayers....our love is great for this girl of 19 1/2 years (as Aidan pointed out!) She needs our support and that of her family. She is very special!

Spring to it Joe

Joe, the name I've chosen for Aidan....he seems to like it too! I spend a fair amount of time with him. I love to call him Joe, Chuck.....he smiles for me easily when I gently tease him with these names. LOL
Our winter has mostly centered around the grandchildren. When we are lucky enough to help out caring for them we do...and LOVE IT!
I redecorated the baby room/guestroom in a cowboy theme. The wild west has settled in my bones, and maybe it just makes me feel a little warmer, :)
Nole and Jessica dropped Cal & Asa off so they could escape for a couples weekend in February. We had the boys for 3 nights, "3 wonderful nights"! I was lucky enough to have Cal for a week all by himself the end of January too. I guess until I work again, I am being blessed spending time with these little boys!!!
So the temps are warming, the days are getting longer, and we are all moving into the future with each new day. We love our sweet families....we cherish their faces, we pray they never go away!

A brief look behind, the holidays!

We celebrated Christmas with our sons, & their families on Tuesday Dec.29, 2009. We had a great time together. Cal got a lot of dinosaur's from Uncle Josh and Aunt Theresa...Aidan more cars, "his favorite", and Asa really enjoyed his wooden teething rattle. Joshua had to go into work and the rest of us spent the afternoon together. Babies napped, Nole played with his new bluetooth headset, Cal even had a chance to play outside in the hobbit house. (I am storing things in it over the winter so there wasn't much room to move and so it was short-lived) Cal ventured around the yard....no hills to slide down, and soon he came in.
Thursday Dec. 31, 09 Jerry and I hit the highway in the dark at 6 am. We made our way to Milwaukee for the airport. We spent 6 days in Arizona with friends Heather and John. They had a beautiful meal for New years eve set and then we had days of "fun in the sun". We rode horses in the desert, went to the Packers/Cardinal game. I was treated to Hard Rock Cafe for my birthday dinner and then we hit Alice Cooperstown for a drink. Shopped Scottsdale and Old Town Scottsdale. I loved the ice cream chocolate soda at the Sugar Bowl....a must stop if you are visiting that shopping district....even if it is not your birthday :)
We are home now for two days and the snow and cold are still enchanting us, along with the Christmas tree! The years come and go so fast...We want to make this one last. We want to be with you...."let's make the time for the ones we love in 2010".
